How We Farm
Here at Rookie Farmers, we are committed every day to both innovation and conservation as we set a new standard for the future of agriculture. Blending old-world practices with new technologies, the reason for our method is simple—to create a more sustainable and efficient world.
Our Way
We’re not afraid to take the road less traveled. We’re plowing the way into innovative farming methods that combine hard work with forward-thinking, future-minded growing tactics. We know the path we’ve chosen isn’t always the easiest, but we believe it’s the right one—for the land, for our community, and for the future of farming.
Our approach blends traditional farming wisdom with modern, sustainable practices that challenge the status quo. Whether it’s adopting regenerative farming techniques, experimenting with new crop varieties, or finding creative ways to reduce our environmental impact, we’re committed to pushing the limits of what farming can be.
We understand that innovation often comes with obstacles, and the road to change can be tough. But we embrace the challenge, knowing that the effort we put in today will pay off tomorrow—not just in a more productive farm, but in a healthier planet and a stronger farming community.
We are proud to hold the following certifications:
Regenerative Farming Verified
by Soil & Climate Health Initiative

This verification signifies that we meet rigorous standards for soil regeneration, water conservation, and ecosystem health. Our methods are not just environmentally responsible, but actively restorative. From the crops we plant to the way we handle the soil, our goal is to leave the land better than we found it.
Organic Certified
by Where Food Comes From Organic

For our organic-certified fields, we rely on natural practices such as crop rotation, cover crop utilization, non-conventional weed and pest management to maintain the land’s fertility and produce healthy, nutrient-dense crops. This helps us provide food that’s not only good for the body, but for the planet as well.
Water Quality Certification

Our farm adheres to rigorous standards designed to protect water quality and preserve healthy ecosystems. The way we farm today supports the well-being of both our land and our local water systems, safeguarding these resources for future generations, keeping our water sources clean and abundant.
Our Equipment
Go ahead and drool, we’ve been there too. Below is just a sample of the innovative equipment that we’ve gathered in recent years. Similar to the way we grow things, we don’t settle for mainstream tractors, combines, and implements. The work we do is big, and deserves the power of these beauties.
Case IH 8250 Combine
Placed in service
2023
Large-scale harvesting machine. Uses advanced technology to optimize grain separation, reduce crop loss, and enhance overall harvesting efficiency. The 8250 incorporates precision farming technology.
Case IH 9250 Combine
Placed in service
2022
Offers additional features like a more powerful engine, larger grain tank capacity and more technological advancements.
Oxbo 8435 Seed Corn Harvester
Placed in service

Case IH 555 Quadtrac Tractor
Placed in service
2022
This versatile machine can prep fields, plant, cultivate, and offers substantial pulling power. The unique Quadtrac track system offers stability and traction, especially in wet or muddy fields. This reduces soil compaction and limits damage to the ground.
Weed Zapper "The Terminator"
Placed in service
2024
This environmentally friendly machine is popular in organic and sustainable farming because it uses precise electric currents to target weeds (as opposed to chemical herbicides).
Twin Engines provide up to 750 HP.
Self-Contained Weed Zapper
This model typically burns around 1-1.5 gallons of fuel per acre.
Peterbuilt 579 Semi’s
Placed in service
2022
