What We’re Growing
Throughout the years, we’ve balanced tried-and-true methods with forward-thinking approaches, continually refining our practices to ensure the health of our land and the success of our crops. Today, we grow a variety of conventional and organic crops, including high-quality grains like hemp, flax, oats, and barley, as well as fiber crops like industrial hemp. These crops are carefully chosen to thrive in our local Minnesota climate and enrich the soil, creating a sustainable cycle that benefits both the land and the community. We invite you to learn more about our current crop lineup below.
Growing for Good
Each crop is carefully grown and harvested before heading to our state-of-the-art processing facility, Green Fox Companies (also proudly family owned!), where we continue our commitment to sustainability. Together, Rookie Farmers and Green Fox Companies strive to utilize every part of the plant, from grains that nourish, like hemp hearts and flax seeds, to fibers that have a multitude of uses like insulative and building materials or animal bedding. This holistic approach ensures minimal waste and maximizes the value of each and every plant, staying true to our farm-to-table and harvest-to-habitat philosophies.
Featured Crops
As self-proclaimed Rookies, we’re always growing something new. We approach each season with a spirit of exploration and innovation. Every year, we challenge ourselves to grow something new—whether it’s a unique variety of grain, a new fiber crop, or something entirely unexpected. We believe in pushing the boundaries of traditional farming and discovering new ways to enrich the land while providing fresh, high-quality crops for our community, and we’re excited about the endless plantibilities that our team comes up with, season after season.
